CIO - Chief Information Officer

Description We are looking for an accomplished Chief Information Officer to provide strategic technology leadership for a transport organization in Broadview, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position will guide enterprise IT direction, strengthen operational performance, and support scalable growth across a complex business environment. The role requires an executive who can align technology priorities with business goals while leading modernization and integration efforts across multiple systems.

Responsibilities:

• Shape and lead the overall technology roadmap, ensuring IT strategy, operations, and transformation priorities support company objectives.
• Direct integration programs related to acquisitions, bringing together applications, data structures, and workflows across newly added businesses.
• Oversee the connection of diverse platforms, including recently acquired AI-enabled lead generation capabilities, to create a more unified technology ecosystem.
• Advance modernization initiatives within a heavily customized legacy environment while reducing risk and improving long-term sustainability.
• Strengthen the reliability and performance of current systems to support day-to-day operations and continued business expansion.
• Develop and expand service-oriented technology platforms that improve efficiency, scalability, and operational consistency.
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership to define the future technology operating model and align IT investments with organizational priorities.
• Evaluate and recommend an effective IT organizational structure, including leadership support layers needed to sustain growth and execution.
• Balance executive planning with practical delivery, ensuring strategic initiatives are translated into measurable outcomes. Requirements
• Demonstrated success serving in a senior IT executive or CIO-level leadership capacity within complex organizations.
• Strong experience leading technology integration efforts during mergers, acquisitions, or periods of rapid expansion.
• Proven ability to unify enterprise systems across fragmented, customized, or multi-entity business environments.
• Track record of modernizing legacy platforms while maintaining business continuity and operational stability.
• Ability to combine strategic decision-making with hands-on leadership and execution.
• Experience designing or scaling platform-based or service-oriented technology environments.
• Knowledge of IT strategy, executive leadership, cybersecurity, and cross-functional technology governance.
• Familiarity with environments that include Agile Scrum practices and infrastructure or security technologies such as Cisco ASA Firewall.
