Senior data governance consultant
Location:
Newark, NJ (Onsite) Responsibilities Define and enforce data quality rules across ingestion pipelines and data catalogues. Set up and manage enterprise data catalogues metadata, lineage, and asset classification. Recommend and implement data governance tools suited to the organisation. Engage business users across units to co-design governance guardrails and policies. Drive data mastering strategy from ingestion through to consumption. Establish data ownership and stewardship models across domains. Champion data governance as a strategic business enabler articulating the value of trusted, well-governed data in driving better decisions, reducing risk, and improving operational efficiency. Liaise with business unit leaders and key stakeholders to build awareness and buy-in for governance initiatives, translating technical standards into business-relevant outcomes. Act as a governance advocate across the organisation conducting working sessions, training, and roadshows to embed a data-ownership culture at every level of the business. Requirements 10+ years in data governance, data management, or data engineering. Hands-on with DQ rule definition, data catalogue setup, and ingestion pipeline governance. Experienced in evaluating and deploying DG platforms (Purview, Collibra, Alation, etc.). Strong communicator able to translate governance concepts for business stakeholders. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform) and MDM principles.
