Location:
Washington (Hybrid) Position Summary The AI Consultant provides strategic advisory, governance, and implementation guidance to ensure successful adoption of artificial intelligence across County operations. This role supports roadmap development, vendor selection, policy creation, risk management, and executive-level decision making. Key Responsibilities Advise County leadership on AI strategy, use case prioritization, and implementation planning. Conduct AI maturity assessments and develop enterprise roadmaps. Design governance frameworks aligned with NIST AI RMF and responsible AI principles. Develop policies covering security, privacy, ethics, bias mitigation, and model transparency. Facilitate procurement support, market analysis, and vendor evaluations. Recommend technology architectures, deployment models, and cost optimization strategies. Oversee risk assessments, approvals, and audit readiness. Support change management and government-specific training programs. Provide executive briefings, workshops, and best-practice recommendations. Ensure long-term sustainability and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Public Administration, or related field. 10+ years of consulting and technology leadership experience. 5+ years focused on AI, machine learning , and digital transformation. Strong knowledge of government compliance, procurement, and governance. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
