Chief Technology Officer - Co-Founder

The Role This is not a ticket-taking role. You will own the technical infrastructure alongside the CEO and work against a clear, documented architecture to harden, scale, and expand a production system that processes real transactions across multiple business lines nationally. You will work in the Cloudflare Workers ecosystem — Wrangler, D1 (SQLite at the edge), KV namespaces, R2 object storage — and in JavaScript/TypeScript. If you have never deployed a Cloudflare Worker, this role is probably not the right fit. If you have built production serverless systems and find the edge computing model interesting, this is a genuinely rare opportunity to own that infrastructure from the ground up at a company that could be worth $2-3B within a decade. What You'll Own In the first 90 days, your primary focus is hardening what's live and closing the known technical debt before we scale: Patching the API security vulnerabilities documented in our internal audit — specifically IDOR exposure across all /:id endpoints and unauthenticated bridge endpoints between our subsidiary workers and the core API. Resolving 14 Worker naming convention violations and ensuring all workers comply with our governance framework before national deployment. Extracting the core treka-one-api monolith (currently 1,054 lines in a single Worker) into properly scoped workers per business line as transaction volume increases. Wiring the React Native mobile app to the live API for the May 7 launch. After launch, the build roadmap includes the TrekaBuilds SDK (a buyer self-service purchase journey integrating floor plan selection, lot choice, mortgage pre-qualification, purchase agreement initiation, insurance binding, and title), the Clerk authentication layer, Sentry error monitoring, PostHog analytics, and the AI agent infrastructure for automated buyer transaction handling. What We're Looking For You have shipped production JavaScript or TypeScript applications that still run in production today. You have debugged something at 2am and fixed it. You think about API security, database schema design, and infrastructure observability as first-class concerns, not afterthoughts. You don't need to have worked in real estate. You need to care about building systems that handle financial transactions at scale and can hold up under the scrutiny that comes with that.

Specifically:

Three or more years of experience shipping production backend or full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript systems. Serverless or edge computing experience is strongly preferred. Background in Cloudflare Workers, AWS Lambda, or Vercel Edge Functions is a genuine advantage. Experience with SQLite, D1, or lightweight relational databases. Understanding of API security fundamentals — auth patterns, rate limiting, input validation, IDOR prevention. Comfort working against a documented architecture with governance rules rather than improvising independently. Strong written communication — we are a remote, async team and written clarity matters. What We Offer Competitive base salary of $110,000-$145,000 depending on experience. Equity options of 0.75%-1.5% vesting over four years with a one-year cliff. At our base case 2035 valuation, this equity stake is worth $20M-$45M. At the aggressive scenario it's worth significantly more.
