job summary: A premier, high-growth e-commerce marketplace operator is seeking an exceptional Senior Manager of Strategy Analytics to lead our business insights and marketplace performance function. Operating in a highly visible "player-coach" capacity, you will serve as the chief thought leader and trusted advisory partner to executive leadership, translating complex data into strategic growth plays. This is a 100% remote direct-hire opportunity open to candidates residing in the EST or CST time zones. Cary, North Carolina job type: Permanent salary: $150,000 - 170,000 per year work hours: 9am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of strategy analysts focused on both the buyer and seller sides of the ecosystem, setting the standard for commercial data storytelling. Own the analytical frameworks governing multi-vendor marketplace dynamics, dissecting "buy box" logic (pricing, delivery speed, fulfillment probability) to maximize transaction efficiency. Partner directly with the commercial sales, merchandising, and marketing business units to align KPI definitions and diagnose multi-funnel performance constraints. Deliver executive-level narratives and data products directly to the C-suite (COO, CEO) and VP layers, explaining marketplace health anomalies and advising on business strategy. Coordinate cross-functionally with the backend Advanced Analytics department to translate commercial business needs into clean, governed, and production-ready enterprise datasets. Evolve customer lifetime value (LTV), acquisition, and retention data frameworks to optimize go-to-market spending and supply-side assortment mapping. Construct and manage self-service operational dashboards to empower commercial stakeholders with data-driven decision-making tooling.
qualifications:
Must-Haves 7+ years of progressive data analytics experience strictly focused within an e-commerce or multi-vendor marketplace environment. Direct experience analyzing complex marketplace dynamics where identical products are distributed across competing merchant vendors (e.g., large-scale digital retail platforms). Proven leadership history in a formal "player-coach" role with direct, administrative ownership over direct reports (not just project lead experience). Exceptional stakeholder management experience, with a track record of driving strategic consensus across executive sales and operational leaders. Highly proficient hands-on technical experience writing complex SQL queries for data extraction and analysis. Strong executive presence and communication skills, with a proven ability to independently guide strategic business reviews. Must reside within the Eastern (EST) or Central (CST) time zones. Nice-to-Haves Practical, hands-on experience utilizing Sigma for enterprise business intelligence reporting and dashboard creation. Familiarity with Snowflake data modeling architectures, data warehousing concepts, and dbt frameworks.
