This position will be onsite 4 days per week, with remote days on Fridays. About the Opportunity Our client is a financially strong, mission-driven organization seeking a Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) to lead the next phase of its technology and digital transformation strategy. This executive will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for aligning technology investments with organizational objectives, enhancing digital service delivery, advancing data and analytics capabilities, and driving innovation across the enterprise. The organization has already established a strong digital foundation and is now focused on expanding digital engagement, modernizing customer-facing platforms, strengthening enterprise integration, and leveraging emerging technologies to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness. Position Overview The CITO provides strategic leadership for technology planning, application delivery, enterprise architecture, data and analytics, cybersecurity, and technology operations. This role requires a leader who can balance long-term vision with disciplined execution while partnering closely with business leaders to translate organizational goals into practical technology solutions. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable discussing business strategy with executives and engaging in conversations around architecture, application modernization, system integration, Agile delivery, and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute a forward-looking technology strategy aligned with organizational priorities. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on technology opportunities, risks, and investments. Build strong partnerships across the organization to ensure technology solutions support business objectives. Translate strategic goals into actionable technology roadmaps. Digital Transformation & Application Delivery Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives focused on improving customer and stakeholder experiences. Oversee application strategy, modernization efforts, and lifecycle management of enterprise platforms. Drive adoption of modern delivery practices, including Agile methodologies and incremental delivery approaches. Promote innovation through responsible evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. Enterprise Architecture & Integration Guide enterprise architecture and technology standards. Ensure applications and platforms are scalable, secure, maintainable, and well-integrated. Drive interoperability and simplification across systems and processes. Data & Analytics Provide strategic direction for enterprise data management, analytics, and reporting capabilities. Promote the use of data as a strategic asset to support decision-making and performance measurement. Support the continued maturation of data governance and data quality practices. Governance & Leadership Establish technology governance frameworks that support transparency, accountability, and alignment with business priorities. Communicate effectively with executive leadership, stakeholders, vendors, and external partners. Lead and develop high-performing technology teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ideal Candidate Profile Successful candidates will bring: Executive technology leadership experience in complex organizations. Strong software engineering, application development, or enterprise application leadership background. Experience leading large-scale technology initiatives and digital transformation efforts. Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, systems integration, and modern application delivery. Experience working within Agile environments. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence and drive change through collaboration and partnership. Customer-focused mindset with a passion for improving user experiences. Experience leading through both direct teams and external implementation partners. Demonstrated career progression with a track record of stability and tenure in key leadership roles. Ability to thrive in a lean, highly collaborative technology environment where leaders remain closely connected to strategy, delivery, and business outcomes. Preferred Background Financial services experience is strongly preferred. Experience within other highly regulated industries is also valued. Exposure to enterprise workflow, CRM, customer experience, or case management platforms is beneficial. Experience supporting data and analytics modernization initiatives is preferred.
