Amid this period of transformation and growth, UVA Health seeks an accomplished, valuesdriven executive to serve as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the University Medical Center (UMC). Reporting directly to UVA Health Executive Vice President and CEO Dr. Mitch Rosner, the UMC CEO will be the operational and cultural leader of the flagship enterprise-charged with driving performance, strengthening strategic partnerships, advancing clinical excellence, elevating the patient and caregiver experience, and serving as a visible champion across Virginia. Equally important, the CEO will serve as a prominent, trusted, and highly visible representative of the community, serving as a vital connector who strengthens relationships and builds meaningful bridges between the health system and its community leaders and partners.
This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the nation's most respected academic medical centers at a pivotal moment. The next CEO will support and advance UVA Health's statewide strategy, steward a critical public mission, and accelerate progress in innovation, financial sustainability, and health outcomes. Position Compensation Range:
$576,004.00 - $1,152,007.00 Annual
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree must be obtained within 4 years of hire or transfer. Advanced Training in healthcare administration business or medicine plus a strong executive management background with evidence of progressively increasing responsibilities in academic medicine or related field.
Experience:
Experience within a public system of decision making and accountability including an appreciation of the importance of board relationships in a public government related organization. Demonstrated ability to assemble highly qualified and effective management team and the corresponding ability to delegate effectively to that team. Knowledge of an advanced managed care marketplace and the cutting edge strategies that promote integrated solution for system wide changes. A deep understanding of sophisticated management techniques clinical re-engineering and financial management. Extensive experience in partnering with physician organizations and a record of trusting collaborative relationships with physician partners.
