Our Chief Information Officer (CIO) is currently recruiting for a Special Assistant with impeccable attention to detail and ability to prioritize schedules while building and maintaining positive working relationships with business partners while supporting executive leadership. As the Special Assistant you will provide confidential executive support to the Information Services Division's Chief Information Officer. Working with staff at all organizational levels (internal and external to DOL) you will track and monitor project deadlines and outcomes to ensure quality results are obtained within given timeframes and help resolve issues and complaints. You will manage the day-to-day administrative support of the Division, while establishing work rules and performance standards for Division administrative team. As the liaison between organizational units within the agency, your ability to effectively communicate and collaborate will be vital. You will have direct input into the management of the Division-wide operations and programs and full authority over the administrative operations of the Division. Some of what you will be doing: Oversee new employee setups, moves, and separations, coordinating with Facilities, Help Desk, and Telecommunications. Support the CIO in the effective management of the operational, financial, policy development and implementation and performance management responsibilities of the Information Systems Division (ISD). Provide advice, consultation, leadership, and special project oversight on programmatic, operational and policy issues of the Information Systems Division (ISD) assigned by the CIO. Schedule and coordinate meetings and calendars: arrange meeting facilities, prepare meeting materials, and compose and publish meeting notes. Serve as a member of the agency's Executive Support Team. Act as the divisional liaison to the Agency Divisional Access Coordinators (DACs) in partnership with the Service Desk administrative assistant composing and communicating changes that impact the work and processes of DACs, maintaining the DACs MS Teams and SharePoint site, while providing assistance as identified. If you model effective leadership, management, and communication techniques and understand the importance of managing the day-to-day administrative support of ISD, while establishing work rules and performance standards for Division administrative team, we invite you to apply. What you will bring to the position: Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional level administrative experience..

Two (2) years of experience within a public agency. Experience in using the principles and practices of leadership, management, public administration, and employee supervision, including coaching and mentoring. Skilled in preserving confidentiality. Demonstrated experience providing quality customer service.

Communicate effectively orally and in writing to a diverse audience, including elected officials, the media, and public. Analyze and interpret complex data. Negotiate and compromise in order to find solutions to problems. Analyze fiscal and program impacts of legislation, strategic planning, budget initiatives, and technology projects.
