The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programming, with a strong foundation in CNC machining processes and precision measurement. As a CAM Programmer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs to produce complex components efficiently and accurately. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing operations by leveraging advanced CAD/CAM software and technical expertise. Responsibilities Develop, review, and optimize CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring precision and efficiency. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA to create detailed part models and technical drawings that meet engineering specifications. Program CNC machines using CAM software, with proficiency in Fanuc controls, to generate accurate toolpaths aligned with design requirements. Interpret blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure proper manufacturing processes. Set up machining operations by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges. Conduct troubleshooting of CNC programs and machining processes to resolve issues related to geometry, tooling, or machine performance. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste and improving workflow efficiency. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and process improvements for quality control and continuous improvement initiatives. Skills Extensive experience programming CNC machines with Fanuc controls; familiarity with other control systems is a plus. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, along with strong knowledge of CAM programming techniques. Solid understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings. Knowledge of machining processes including CNC milling, CNC lathe operations, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and tooling selection. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges for quality assurance. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with an understanding of geometry and math principles relevant to manufacturing accuracy. Ability to interpret schematics and electrical diagrams; experience working within lean manufacturing environments is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to troubleshoot program issues or machine malfunctions efficiently.
