General Summary:
The Program Analyst
  • Pricing is a key contributor to the pricing and contract bidding process, supporting commercial and government/military programs.
The role involves leveraging accounting systems to analyze prior builds, reviewing current quotes, gathering critical data, and developing actionable pricing recommendations. This position maintains up-to-date pricing structures and ensures the accurate preparation of quotations for customers. The analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to align financial insights with operational strategies, providing consistent value across all pricing and cost projection activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support contract pricing and bidding activities by working closely with Contracts and Project Management Teams on proposals for commercial and government/military contracts.
  • Assist Program Managers by retrieving relevant data from Costpoint, and Intuitive system, and answering inquiries related to products cost and prices.
  • Actively participate in Program ROI Reviews, contributing financial insights to decision-making.
  • Manage all pricing activities at Astronics Test Systems business unit demonstrating a thorough understanding of Materials Management and estimating capabilities effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Cost Accountant, Supply Chain, and Finance Teams to ensure the accuracy and alignment of quoted data with company objectives.
  • Track and record quote histories and work with sales to create metrics around bidding process.
  • Provide robust cost projections and financial modeling to support the development of informed pricing strategies.
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison during audits conducted by the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Assist on special projects for Accounting and Finance Teams, offering financial expertise and recommendations.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support business needs.
Job Specifications:
Four-year college degree or equivalent and a minimum of three years' experience in a pricing analyst, cost accounting, or financial analyst role.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent)
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
  • Experience in Deltek Costpoint and Intuitive preferred
Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical skillset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional team interactions.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
  • Understanding of cost structures, sales volumes, and how pricing impacts overall profitability.
  • Proactively identifying issues in pricing strategies and devising multiple solutions.
Compensation:
For individuals hired to work in California, Astronics Test Systems (ATS) is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to California. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience, as well as internal equity. A reasonable estimate of the range for this position is $70,000
  • $85,000 / year.
