Polishing Full Job Description Machinist Programmer/Operator Job Summary:

As a Machinist you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machine tools to produce precision components. You will work with a wide range of materials, such as metal, plastic and composite, following blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings to fabricate parts with accuracy and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Program and edit using conversational and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to execute complex machining operations with high precision. Prepare and set up machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines, according to job specifications and work instructions. Operate machine tools to cut, shape, and finish metal and other materials to precise dimensions, using various cutting tools, fixtures, and techniques. Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards. and replacing worn or damaged components to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job setups, tool changes, machine maintenance, and quality inspection results. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in machining or related field is preferred. Proven experience as a machinist or machine operator in a manufacturing environment, with proficiency in manual and CNC machining techniques. Attention to detail and precision, with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship and meeting tight tolerances. Experience and familiarity with CNC/Manual Mill and Lathe. Programming and machining automation is advantageous. Ability to write/modify CNC programs. Ability to hold a tolerance of 0.001" in some parts. Experience with aluminum, 300 series stainless and plastics. Experience with polishing to a fine finish on stainless and aluminum. Availability to work during regular work hours, with flexibility for overtime. Full-time, permanent position. Salary dependent on experience.
