Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Programmer to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and programming fire alarm systems to ensure maximum safety and compliance across various construction and service projects. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to fire alarm system design and installation. Program fire alarm control panels using specialized software, ensuring proper integration of sensors, detectors, and notification devices. Conduct construction inspections to verify that installed systems meet design specifications, codes, and safety standards. Collaborate with construction teams, fitters, and contractors to coordinate system installation and commissioning. Test and troubleshoot fire alarm systems in the field using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Provide field service support by diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and updating programming as needed for ongoing system maintenance. Assist in sales efforts related to fire alarm systems by demonstrating technical features and advising on system design options. Requirements Proven experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to fire alarm or low voltage systems. Strong knowledge of system design principles for fire alarm systems including sensors, detectors, alarms, and control panels. Proficiency with CAD software for creating detailed layout plans of fire alarm installations. Mechanical knowledge combined with construction inspection experience to verify proper system integration within building structures. Hands-on experience with field service activities involving hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment for fire alarm systems. Knowledge of fire sprinkler fitting or mechanical trades is a plus; experience in construction or service technician roles highly valued. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical instructions effectively. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with project teams and explaining technical details clearly.
