In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs and CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing) models to ensure precise and efficient production of custom cabinetry and furniture components. Your expertise will directly contribute to streamlining our manufacturing processes, enhancing product quality, and supporting lean manufacturing principles. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional passionate about precision machining, innovative programming, and manufacturing excellence. Duties Develop and modify CNC programs for various machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machines using Cabinet Vision software. Create detailed CAD models and technical drawings utilizing AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA to support manufacturing specifications. Implement lean manufacturing practices by optimizing machining processes, reducing waste, and improving workflow efficiency. Program and operate CNC equipment with a focus on accuracy, repeatability, and safety standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and schematics to ensure precise fabrication. Conduct precision measurements using tools such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify component dimensions. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and machinists to troubleshoot tooling issues, improve machining parameters, and ensure adherence to quality standards. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, tooling setups, calibration records, and process improvements. Requirements Proven experience in CNC programming with proficiency in Cabinet Vision software or similar CAD/CAM platforms. Strong mechanical knowledge of machining processes including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and tooling setups. Familiarity with Fanuc controls or other CNC controller systems is highly desirable. Ability to read complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Knowledge of GD&T principles for ensuring component accuracy within tight tolerances. Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or CATIA for designing parts or fixtures. Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts to improve efficiency in production workflows. Strong math skills including geometry and measurements essential for precision machining. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machining issues quickly and effectively.
