Innovative Staff Solutions has a new direct hire opportunity for a IT Programmer with one of our clients in the Nashville, IL area! Here's how you will make an impact: Programs and manages software projects, supports both the manufacturing (plant floor) and business (office) departments. What you will do on a daily basis: Analyzes customer's needs for automated information. Writes code to meet customer's needs. Provides direction to outside programmers / software suppliers. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers. Participates in evaluation of new 'business' related software. Manages upgrades to existing software programs. Maintains an acceptable attendance record. Participates in resolution of computer system problems (hardware or software) as the need arises. Maintains a clean and safe work area. Participates in department meetings. Completes documentation of activities as required. Submits cost reduction and innovation ideas. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Required:
Programming experience in a professional setting
Preferred:
Experience with the following: Visual Basic, Progress, Windows XP/7, Lotus Notes.
Preferred:
Experience leading to knowledge of manufacturing systems.
Preferred:
Experience with wireless devices (scanners, printers, etc.). Must have good problem solving skills. Must have good math skills. Must have excellent computer skills. Must work well with others. Must have good communication skills
Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and have a high tolerance for stressful situations. Must have strong understanding of business systems.
Required:
B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, MIS or equivalent Must be able to at least meet the physical demands as defined by the current production requirements and the job function evaluation. See job function evaluation in the Occupational Nurse's office for more details. Office environment. May spend some time in manufacturing environment using normal PPE and safety precautions. In special circumstances, candidates who have not met the required education, but have substantial manufacturing work experience that is applicable to the job may be considered.
