Job Description

Job Summary Responsible for the overall design of the control system to operate the OEM machinery produced within this facility. Duties include specifying the components and equipment needed to complete the system, programming and interfacing of the equipment, assist/troubleshooting the assembly process and startup/debug of the control system and overall machine. The position also requires implementation of material and cost reduction measures as well as documentation of the operating process and service/maintenance records. Additional duties include field service repair of customer machines and support equipment and production equipment used at our facility.
Responsibilities and Duties Primary Responsibilities:
Design and program machine control systems using PLC/HMI solutions. Simulate, test, and debug machine control systems in house Install and startup systems in-house and at end user facilities Create unique customer focused solutions and programs Provide continuing system technical support over the phone or on-site Coordinate with customers, vendors, and colleagues to solve automation challenges Travel onsite to customer locations to implement, maintain, and upgrade software/hardware Maintain project timelines and budgets Produce construction and programming budgets Produce design documents, specifications and creating electrical prints Size and select equipment including servos, power supplies, sensors, switches, motors, and other control devices for machines Generate bill of material (BOM) machines and related projects Robotic programming experience preferred PLC programming; Primarily Rockwell Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills Candidate Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook hands-on experience programming PLCs, preferred minimum of 3 years Experience with Rockwell PLCs, preferred minimum of 2 years Knowledge and experience with servo drive motors Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously Organized and self-motivated- AS or BS in Automation, Engineering or equivalent training AutoCAD experience preferred
