ABB robot programmer ER Automation Inc. Detroit, MI $40 an hour - Temporary, Full-time, Contract $40 an hour - Temporary, Full-time, Contract Overview Looking for 6-8 (3+) year ABB robot programmers for contract work in Grand Rapids, MI. In this dynamic role, you will develop, test, and optimize robot programs to enhance production efficiency, quality, and safety. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality products through cutting-edge automation solutions. Responsibilities Develop, write, and troubleshoot ABB robot programs to ensure precise and efficient automation processes. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production teams to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for robot integration. Perform root cause analysis on robotic system issues, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime. Integrate robotics with other manufacturing systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing robotic workflows for increased productivity and reduced waste. Requirements Proven experience programming and troubleshooting ABB robots in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in schematics, blueprint reading, and tooling design. Proficiency with robot programming languages and experience with ABB. Knowledge of RobotStudio is a plus. Familiarity with vision inspection systems and their integration into robotic workflows. Understanding of CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards applicable in regulated industries. Experience working with PLCs, distributed control systems, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD for system design or modifications. Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively and implement continuous improvement strategies within lean manufacturing frameworks.
