This role is pivotal in programming and optimizing 5-axis laser cutting equipment, specifically Trumpf systems, to produce precise, high-quality components. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, and manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient operation of complex laser machinery. Duties Develop and implement CNC programs for 5-axis laser cutting machines utilizing CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, and other relevant tools. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate machining processes aligned with design specifications. Optimize laser cutting parameters by applying principles of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Set up, calibrate, and operate Trumpf laser systems with precision, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality requirements. Conduct routine maintenance checks on laser equipment and troubleshoot issues related to tooling, electrical systems, or mechanical components. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and tolerances. Collaborate with engineering teams to refine machining processes, improve cycle times, and reduce waste through effective tooling selection and geometry adjustments. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setup procedures, and machine calibrations for compliance and quality audits. Support continuous improvement initiatives by participating in lean manufacturing practices and process optimization projects. Experience Proven experience in CNC programming for 5-axis laser systems, preferably Trumpf or similar brands. Strong proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, and CAM programming tools. Extensive knowledge of CNC machining operations involving laser cutting, milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM). Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), schematics interpretation, and blueprint reading. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling setup, fixture design, and machine calibration techniques. Experience working within lean manufacturing environments focused on efficiency improvements. Knowledge of precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and geometric relationships essential for high-quality machining. Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams related to CNC machinery operation. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to troubleshooting machine issues.
