We are recruiting to fill a Programmer Supervisor I position to perform programming assignments at the strategic operating level and supervises the programming staff Responsibilities - What you'll do Determines and defines work assignments, delegates work related to the efficient operation of all OSCA computer systems analysis and design or other information technology specialties Manages, controls, coordinates and prioritizes all systems activities to ensure task completion Confers with management relative to strategic planning, long term priorities and agency goals; implements data-gathering and programming techniques; directs feasibility studies; recommends computer information technology solutions; and manages project implementation Demonstrates proficiency using programming languages identified by the ITS Division Ensures development efforts are meeting the customer's needs and solving reported business problems Qualifications - All you need for success Minimum qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in computer science, computer information systems, or closely related areas and 5 years of experience, including 2 years above the journey-level, of professional and technical computer information systems experience, which must include 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience; Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education. Preferred qualifications Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of computer information technology Considerable knowledge of supervisor techniques and administrative practices Extensive knowledge of continuing trends and developments in computer hardware and software Extensive knowledge of data query and manipulation techniques, various computer applications, and principles and practices of computer information technology Ability to develop short and long-range plans that meet established objectives and contribute to the overall goals and mission of the agency Job Details - More reasons to love this position The State of Missouri offers an excellent benefits package that includes a defined pension plan, generous amounts of leave and holiday time, and eligibility for health insurance coverage.
