Job Description

We are a company that values people who want to learn new skills and use them on innovative applications that help society. SUMMARY Performs all aspects of programming and testing. Converts data from specifications and statements of problems to computer code by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1) Consults with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems. 2) Designs or writes program specifications based on consultations with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users. 3) Converts designs and specifications into computer code. 4) Compiles code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process. 5) Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm program meets specifications. 6) Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs. 7) Writes and maintains documentation of changes to computer code, programs, and specifications. 8) Designs and codes layouts for onscreen user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems. 9) Reviews user and technical documentation written by others to confirm consistency with program operations. 10) Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs. 11) Revises program for corrections, enhancements, or system environment changes. 12) Trains end users or technical support staff to use and support program. 13) Coordinates with other programmers about program revisions. 14) Modifies and maintains software programs written by others. 15) Meets or exceeds the goals listed on the Company's Key Results Plans. 16) Consistently demonstrates alignment with the Gravic Way.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Science, Math or equivalent, from a four-year college or university. Experience using C/C++ with a focus on back-end development. Experience developing products in Windows, Linux, and/or Unix environments. Some SQL knowledge a plus. Familiarity with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse or Microsoft Visual Studio is a plus. Familiarity with debugging techniques and tools such as WinDbg or the GNU debugger is a plus. Ability to multi-task in a goal-driven environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Self-starter who is able to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
