General Public - G Job Duties The Virginia Department of Taxation, Office of Technology, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Programmer Analyst to drive innovation and transformation within our tax return processing systems. This role is critical to ensuring that our systems continue to meet the evolving needs of both Virginia taxpayers and the Commonwealth government. As a Programmer Analyst, you will collaborate closely with both business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, support system architectures, and deliver enhancements that improve functionality, performance, and user experience. Your contributions will directly support the modernization of one of our most complex and mission-critical applications The position is located at our Main Street Centre location in Richmond Virginia and has a hybrid schedule consisting of 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days teleworking (Monday and Friday). Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of .NET and C# Basic working knowledge or exposure to front-end technologies such as Angular and Node.js Understanding of software engineering, object-oriented programming, agile and / or Scrum methodology and best practices. Experience developing applications that interface with Oracle, SQL Server including writing basic queries and/or stored procedures Ability to collaboratively analyze program specifications, to code and test programs and resolve problems within assigned modules Knowledge of Azure DevOps and / or GitHub Experience in Linux/ Unix shell scripting or Windows Power Shell Additional Considerations Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPlatform tools such as PowerBI, PowerApps, or Robotic Processing Automation (RPA) Work Experience within Federal or State government agencies either as an employee or contractor Special Instructions You will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
