Senior Systems Programmer
Job Description:
DPP is seeking a Senior Systems Programmer for an opportunity with our client in the healthcare insurance industry. Work location: Hybrid (Onsite Tues., Wed., Thurs.) and as needed in Columbia, SC
Duration:
12 months
Term:
W2 position Work authorization: Candidates must be eligible to earn a low-level (Public Trust) US security clearance. Position summary: Resolving test and production issues related to IBM MQ environments Creating and maintaining queue managers and queues (critical requirement) Handling customer requests, including creating new queues/queue managers and modifying queue depth Installing, upgrading, and configuring IBM MQ across servers and environments Analyzing error reports and troubleshooting issues while managing multiple tasks concurrently Performing internal monitoring, including queue depth and overall MQ health Supporting multiple projects ranging from MQ upgrades to new environment setups. Current environment is MQ version 9.3 Required technologies: JCL Mainframe/Host experience IBM z/OS MQ mainframe Experience creation and maintaining queue managers and queues Desired technologies: CICS IBM WebSphere MQ COBOL Unix and Linux (nice to have) Minimum required work experience: 6 years of IT work experience including varied systems programming experience.
Required education/equivalencies:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree; OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience; OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 10 years without a degree)
Hours:
8-4:30pm Monday - Friday. Overtime, on call, weekends, and off hours as needed once fully trained Interested?
