Job Description Job Summary The CNC Programmer - Haas is responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC machining operations using Haas equipment to produce high-quality components that meet engineering specifications and production requirements. This role supports manufacturing efficiency, continuous improvement initiatives, and safe operational practices while ensuring product quality and on-time delivery. Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for Haas machining centers and lathes. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds to maximize efficiency and quality. Perform machine setup, prove-out, and first-article validation. Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve processes. Modify existing programs to improve cycle time, tool life, and product quality. Maintain program documentation, setup sheets, and revision control. Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and company policies. Support continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing and cost reduction efforts. Train operators on setup procedures and program usage as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 3 years CNC programming experience , preferably with Haas machines. Experience with Haas controls and CNC machining centers. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings. Working knowledge of GD&T and inspection methods. Experience selecting cutting tools and machining strategies. Proficiency using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges). Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Technical degree or certification in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or related field. Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar). Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Multi-axis machining experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance. Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and machining fluids. Work Environment This position operates in a manufacturing facility requiring adherence to PPE and safety standards. The role may require overtime based on production needs.
