I5 Programmer

Duties and Responsibilities:

Confers with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing applications as requested by users. The user through an MIS change request initiates the process. Provide on-call support and problem resolution for computer applications. This support will be on a weekly rotation between all I5 staff. Troubleshoot and provide timely resolution to programming and/or user errors. This may involve programming changes and/or file restoration. Needs analysis - work with users to understand their processes and how information systems can help and effectively integrates their needs into specifications for any software modifications or development. Design, program, implement and test new software systems and integrate them with existing systems. Ensure that appropriate written document is created and maintained to allow other programmers to keep systems operation in the absence of the original programmer. Designs and prepares technical manuals, training guides, and reference manuals. Provide training to users when enhancements are made, or new applications are written. Traveling may be required depending on project requirements. R equirements 2 - 4-year degree in Computer Science or Information Technology 2 or more current years of experience in application development on AS400 or I5 platforms in RPG/ILE, CLP, and SQL/400 software language. Must have good organizational abilities and interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in an organized fashion.2 - 4-year degree in Computer Science or Information Technology 2 or more current years of experience in application development on AS400 or I5 platforms in RPG/ILE, CLP, and SQL/400 software language.
