Job Description

Under limited supervision, develop and maintain administrative software and systems. Provide technical guidance to junior developers as project technical leader in order to provide effective and reliable automated processes for the various divisions of Midlands Technical College. Leads project teams which design, code, test, modify and document new and existing computer programs and systems using modern programming tools and advanced design techniques to enable the effective administration of college information. Meet with users to determine system requirements. Prepare detailed specifications from which programs can be written. Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues using diverse technical support resources and systems analysis techniques. Assists users in creating reports from diverse data sources using industry standard tools such as Power BI and Microsoft SQL. Trains system users as necessary. Develops and implements data exchange processes between the enterprise student information system and supporting subsystems to eliminate the manual handling of critical information. Recommends technical approaches and architectures for solving complex data processing issues to improve college information administration. A high school diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Bachelor's degree in related field.
