Senior Robot Programmer Location:
Spartanburg, SC Job Type:

Robotics About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Robot Programmer to join our Controls and Robotics team. You will develop, test, and optimize robot software programs, support commissioning activities, and collaborate closely with engineering and project teams. This role requires both domestic and international travel. What You'll Do
  • Analyze project specifications and robot mechanical designs to identify programming requirements.
  • Develop robot program concepts, flow charts, and fully functional software solutions.
  • Program robots online and offline across multiple platforms and brands.
  • Test robot functionality and ensure compliance with project and safety requirements.
  • Implement software improvements and optimize automated processes.
  • Commission robot systems at customer facilities and provide support during startup.
  • Ensure compliance with machine safety and security standards.
  • Communicate progress, results, and deviations to the Project Coordinator.
  • Support standardization of robotic software components. Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong proficiency in robot programming (online & offline) across various platforms (FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman, ABB).
  • Experience commissioning MIG/MAG robotic welding equipment (Fronius, Lincoln, Miller).
  • Experience with programming robotic projection welding controllers (Medar, Bosch, etc.).
  • Experience with gluing systems such as SCA/Atlas Copco.
  • Experience performing initial robot commissioning.
  • Solid understanding of mechatronics and software specification requirements.
  • Experience with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Sick, or similar) including setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and integration with robotic processes.
  • Experience with AI-based vision solutions (e.g., Apera AI, Osaro, Mech Mind, etc.) such as deep learning vision tools for part detection, classification, guidance, inspection, or defect recognition, including deployment and tuning in industrial robot applications a plus. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or related field preferred, or equivalent job experience

    English
      Travel:
      30-40% domestic and international travel
