Programmer Analyst (Specialization) Remote (Monday-Friday) 710 James Robertson Parkway, 6th Floor, Andrew Johnson Tower , Nashville, Tennessee 37243 12 Months Responsibilities Complete Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) onboarding using
HL7 2.5.1
standards while ensuring compliance with interoperability requirements. Provide input on and manage production monitoring activities, including alerts, dashboard development, maintenance, and issue identification. Investigate ELR processing issues independently, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions. Collaborate with Rhapsody developers to enhance existing routes and define new routes for ELR processing. Assist with processing laboratory data submitted via alternate formats such as flat files. Coordinate both routine and ad hoc management of interoperability vocabulary within the disease surveillance system. Act as a liaison to downstream users of ELR data within the department, ensuring clear communication and effective data utilization. Support ongoing ELR maintenance activities including parallel validation, LOINC code assignments, and resolution of production errors. Contribute to broader informatics initiatives within the Surveillance Systems and Informatics (SSI) Program, including system integration and data exchange improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Professional Experience:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience working with Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) onboarding and/or maintenance, preferably within a state or local health department. Experience working with Rhapsody or defining specifications for integration workflows. Hands-on experience in statistical and analytical programming using SAS, SQL, or R. Strong written and verbal communication skills along with demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively.
