The Wire EDM Programmer & Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining ONA Wire EDM machine to produce highprecision components that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires strong technical expertise in EDM programming, a solid understanding of tooling and fixturing, and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Job Duties Program, set up, and operate ONA Wire EDM machines to manufacture precision components
Develop and edit CNC wire EDM programs using machine controls and/or offline programming software.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T.
Select proper wire, power settings, tooling, and fixturing based on material type and job requirements.
Perform machine setups, work offsets, part alignments, and firstarticle inspections.
Monitor machining operations to ensure accuracy, surface finish, and dimensional tolerances are met.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
Troubleshoot machining issues, wire breaks, and process deviations to minimize downtime.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on Wire EDM machines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Maintain production documentation, setup sheets, and inspection records.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes and reduce cycle times.
Follow all safety policies, quality standards, and company procedures.
Contribute to shop production while EDM is running. This may include deburring other parts, marking parts using laser or stamping tools. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Experience with offline EDM programming software and CAD/CAM systems.
Familiarity with aerospace, medical, or highprecision manufacturing environments.
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
Tool & die, mold making, or precision machining background.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [e.g., 40 lbs].
Manual dexterity and good handeye coordination.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machines, noise, and fluids.
Handson experience operating and programming ONA Wire EDM machines.
Strong knowledge of EDM processes, materials, cutting parameters, and flushing techniques.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T symbols.
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
