May 2025 Position Overview Patriot Aerospace Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Machinist / Programmer with 6 - 8+ years of experience to support our Lead Programmer / Shop Foreman in a brand-new, state-of-the-art, climate-controlled facility in Waxahachie, TX. This role will play a critical part in programming, setup, process optimization, and mentoring junior machinists while supporting the production of high-precision components for aircraft OEM customers. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise in multi-axis machining and a passion for continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment including: Haas 3-Axis Machining Centers Haas 5-Axis Machining Centers CNC Lathe (3-Axis) CNC Router Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Solidworks, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar) Lead prove-outs of new parts and processes, ensuring efficiency and repeatability Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements Select tooling, fixtures, cutting strategies, and machining parameters to maximize productivity and quality Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues in real time Support the Lead Programmer / Shop Foreman with workflow planning and shop floor execution Mentor and train entry-level and mid-level machinists Ensure adherence to aerospace quality standards and documentation requirements (AS9100) Perform and verify in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools Drive continuous improvement initiatives (cycle time reduction, tool life optimization, scrap reduction) Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment (5S principles) Minimum Qualifications 6 - 8+ years of CNC machining and programming experience Proven experience programming multi-axis CNC machines (3-axis and 5-axis required) Strong proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent) Deep understanding of G-code, toolpath strategies, and machining dynamics Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T Experience holding tight tolerances in aerospace or similar high-precision industries Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications Experience with Haas CNC equipment and controls Background in aerospace manufacturing and OEM support Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and documentation Experience in fixture design and process development Prior leadership, mentoring, or lead machinist experience Exposure to ERP/MES systems (e.g., ProShop or similar) Work Environment & Benefits Brand-new facility with cutting-edge CNC equipment Fully climate-controlled shop environment 4-day work week (Monday-Thursday) supporting work-life balance Opportunity to help build and shape shop processes and culture from the ground up Direct impact on aerospace OEM programs Strong advancement potential into leadership roles Why Join Patriot Aerospace Solutions?
