Position Overview Consistent terminology underpins the authority of joint doctrine and the DoD Dictionary. The Terminologist maintains the online terminology research databases within the Joint Electronic Library and processes approved terminology changes. The role keeps definitions accurate and consistent across related publications for the Joint Doctrine Development Community. Essential Job Function Maintain searchable databases of approved joint terminology within the JEL and JEL+. Process approved terminology changes into the Joint Terminology Master Database. Check consistency of terms and definitions across related documents. Support doctrine development and publication processes with terminology research
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Associate Degree or equivalent in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; or no degree with 3 years of experience in the areas below.
Experience:
Demonstrated success in two (2) or more of the following: familiarity with terms in the DoD Dictionary and the process for incorporating approved terminology changes; doctrine development and publication processes; consistency of data between related documents; and Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
Security Clearance:
Secret Desired Qualifications Prior experience maintaining DoD or Joint Staff terminology databases. Familiarity with the Joint Doctrine Development Tool (JDDT) terminology functions.
