Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated EDM Programmer / Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment to produce precision components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality production standards are met while maintaining efficient workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing technologies and contribute to the creation of complex parts used across various industries. Responsibilities Develop and modify CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs for EDM machines using CAD/CAM software such as Striker Set up EDM equipment, including preparing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to technical drawings and schematics. Operate EDM machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions. Troubleshoot machining issues related to electrical discharge processes, adjusting parameters as needed for optimal performance. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection reports, and machine logs. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to interpret schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings for accurate fabrication. Skills Proficiency in Stiker / CAD drawing system and CAD/CAM programming for designing and editing machining programs. Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation for
EDM, CNC
lathe, CNC milling machines, stamping presses, and other manufacturing equipment. Experience with electrical discharge machining techniques including wire EDM and sinker EDM processes. Familiarity with tooling design, fabrication, and assembly processes. Ability to read schematics, mechanical drawings, and electrical diagrams accurately. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills in welding, fabrication, hand tools usage, and precision measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Understanding of GD&T principles to ensure parts meet strict tolerances. Knowledge of manufacturing best practices including machining operations like stamping press work and tooling setup. Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality control and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
