Overview Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Senior Computer Engineer position. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and high-performing team dedicated to mission success. The Senior Computer Engineer will support Navy C4I programs by leading the design, development, testing, and sustainment of complex computer hardware, software, and networked systems for naval platforms. In this senior-level role, the engineer will provide technical leadership in system integration, cybersecurity, testing, and advanced troubleshooting across mission-critical shipboard systems, including propulsion, navigation, and steering. Key Responsibilities The Senior Computer Engineer will: Lead the design, development, and testing of advanced computer hardware and software supporting combat systems, propulsion, navigation, and shipboard network systems Develop, debug, and maintain code for operating systems, network distribution, and complex system algorithms Oversee the installation, maintenance, and modernization of hardware and software systems, including efforts at Naval Surface Warfare Centers (NSWC) Analyze user requirements, resolve complex technical issues, and enhance cybersecurity protocols for mission-critical systems Develop and maintain technical documentation, perform data analysis, and present detailed progress reports and recommendations to leadership Requirements Skills and Experience The Senior Computer Engineer must have: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility 10+ years of experience in computer engineering, software development, or network systems Experience supporting Navy programs Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and provide leadership within cross-functional tea Education and Certifications The Senior Computer Engineer must have the following: Required Master's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science Benefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) PTO Paid Parental Leave Tuition reimbursement Paid federal holidays Security Clearance A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
