Job Description

You will serve as a Student Intern (Computer Scientist) at the GG-07 grade level receiving on-the-job training in computer science by performing specific and varied work assignments incidental to the function of the organizational segment to which assigned.
Qualifications:
ELIGIBILITY
Must be enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment in a bachelor's degree (or more advanced degree) program with a major in Computer Science OR working towards a related degree that includes 30 semester hours in a combination of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science from an accredited or pre-accredited academic institution.
NOTE:
At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must include any combination of Statistics and Mathematics that includes differential and integral calculus. To be eligible for the GG-07, you must meet the following required education level: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree (or more advanced degree) program with a major in Computer Science OR working towards a related degree that includes 30 semester hours in a combination of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science from an accredited or pre-accredited academic institution.
NOTE:
At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must include any combination of Statistics and Mathematics that includes differential and integral calculus. All educational requirements for this position must be met by June 30, 2027.
Program Completion and Conversion:
Interns may be converted at the discretion of the agency to a permanent position (or, in some limited circumstances, to a term position lasting 1-5 years) within 120 days of successful completion of the program. To be eligible for conversion, Interns must: Be a U.S. Citizen Complete at least 160-320 hours of work experience acquired through the Student Internship Program Complete their degree requirements Meet the qualification standards for the position to which the Intern will be converted Perform their job successfully
NOTE:
Students who convert to a permanent position may be eligible for a Recruitment/Relocation or Student Loan Repayment Incentive as the discretion of the agency.
