Job Description

REPORTS TO
Chief School Technology Officer
JOB GOAL
To provide assistance in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the computer and communications networks throughout the Muscle Shoals City School System.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventative maintenance on computers, servers, network equipment, software and peripherals. Repair and install computers, servers, network equipment, software, and peripherals. Maintain current knowledge of all instructional technology used in the school system. Aid teachers and administrators in the proper operation of computer based equipment. Provide hardware and software training of school staff. Maintain work orders and job related documentation. Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, administrators, and others. Ensure adherence to good safety standards. Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment. Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by higher authority.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree in electronics or computer related field (or equivalent experience) Knowledge of computer hardware and software Knowledge of operating systems and Microsoft networking Ability to build, repair, and service a variety of technical equipment
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
Terms of Employment:
Compensation determined by current salary schedule 187, 189, or 240 day assignment Daily work hours shall be established based on system needs.
