Job Description

Information Systems Technician Position Summary The Information Systems Technician is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the organization's IT infrastructure across multiple hospitality and retail locations. This role ensures reliable system performance, rapid issue resolution, and a high level of operational uptime for all business-critical systems, including POS, network, and audio/visual (AV) systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain network and system uptime across multiple business locations, including restaurants, bars, and retail environments Serve as the first point of contact for IT support issues, providing timely troubleshooting and resolution for hardware, software, network, POS, and AV system problems Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, POS systems, printers, routers, and AV equipment (TVs, audio systems, media players, etc.) Diagnose and repair hardware failures; coordinate replacements when necessary Manage and support restaurant and retail Point-of-Sale (POS) systems (e.g., SpotOn, RMH, or similar platforms) to ensure continuous operation Troubleshoot and maintain audio/visual systems, including display issues, sound systems, signal distribution, and media devices Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations Assist with network setup, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points Ensure cybersecurity best practices are followed, including antivirus management, system updates, and user access controls Perform system backups and verify data integrity and recovery processes Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures Track and manage IT inventory, including ordering and deploying hardware as needed Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers (ISPs, POS vendors, AV vendors, software providers) for issue resolution and project implementation Support new store openings, system upgrades, and technology rollouts, including POS and AV installations Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards for all installed equipment Build strong working relationships with staff across all departments to support operational needs Preferred Skills & Competencies Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in fast-paced hospitality environments Hands-on experience with restaurant POS systems and retail POS platforms Experience installing and supporting AV systems, including TVs, audio distribution, and media control systems Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, Wi-Fi) Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks across different locations Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to travel between locations as needed Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of hands-on IT support experience in a multi-site or hospitality environment

Experience supporting restaurant POS systems
Preferred:
Experience with audio/visual (AV) systems installation and troubleshooting Experience with Windows operating systems, basic networking, and hardware troubleshooting Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems is a plus Additional Requirements Ability to lift and install IT equipment (up to 50 lbs) Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or on-call support as needed Salary- $47,5000
