Job Description
The Computer Services Technical Assistant will report to the Computer Technician/Network Manager on his/her assigned campus. The Computer Services Technical Assistant will be responsible for assisting and helping of providing computer and technical support for all computer-related functional areas of the college, such as: computer labs, classrooms, library, faculty offices, and staff offices.
Works Hours:
Varies, up to 19 per week. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications and must submit a complete application packet through the on-line application system to be considered. (Transcript of college work verifying degree requirement; must include degree awarded and date confirmed. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted before the deadline, but official transcripts must be received if employed). Assist the Computer Services•Computer Technician/Network Manager in all areas of support relative to the function of computer services. Help set up and install new computers and laptops in a network environment. Help with any necessary moves of computers and computer-related devices. Assist with resolving computer and network problems, repair and upgrade computer systems and perform necessary maintenance tasks. Assist with installing and testing network cabling and devices according to industry standards. Proficiently, configure and maintain network printers, scanners, copiers and other peripherals while adhering to college guidelines. Assist with the installation of instructional software and testing software in labs, faculty offices, and staff offices. Provide end-user support for essential computer needs, software and functionality. Assist faculty, staff, and students with wireless connectivity and mobile technology. Assume all other duties assigned by the Computer Technician/Network Manager and the Director of ITT. minimum of a high school diploma is required .KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Skill in operating a mouse to control a computer. Skill in operating a computer including tablets. Proficiency in computer database management in order to generate reports for effective project management and for the U.S. Department of Education. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to prescribed routines. Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to work and communicate with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to utilize email systems to communicate information. Ability to work with minimal supervision/work independently. Ability to operate in a professional manner at all times. Conscientious•wanting to care about how work is done and wanting to do a good job. Initiative•responding to downtime by taking responsibility to do other work. A focus on details. A focus on being friendly and patient in responding to customer needs. Willingness to maintain flexibility to meet student needs. A positive attitude regardless of circumstances at hand.
