Job Description

Yavapai County Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking an IT Specialist IV , specializing in systems administration within a Windows server environment, particularly focusing on Hyper-V virtualization and adherence to regulatory compliance requirements such as CIS, CJIS, HIPAA, and PCI. Ideal candidate will have a solid foundational knowledge of networking and will effectively utilize PowerShell scripting and automation to enhance our team at Yavapai County. Oversees the ensuring of network/system availability to include all centralized and internet-based resources; communicates status of requested services to county-wide departmental liaisons. Services include (but not limited to): responds to service calls, provides technical expertise, and ensures timely resolution of customer reported problems. Oversees small to medium individual and multi-department projects within the ITS project portfolio while observing established ITS project management procedures. Using appropriate technology, creates project deliverables as specified for the project; examples include a requirements document, statement of work, test plans and diagrams. Collaborates with county-wide IT stakeholders to define requirements and translate such business needs into technical solutions; provides recommendations for software and/or systems. Designs, develops, tests, and maintains custom systems; prepares test plans for assigned systems and develops test data and tests procedures for those systems. Prepares and maintains customer and internal documentation. Assists in providing technical assistance and training to junior staff. Provides level III technical expertise. Performs varied systems analysis, configuration, and implementation work. Assists in developing departmental standards and procedures; complies with all County and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains expertise in current technologies. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field.
Experience:
A minimum of four (4) years of experience in information technology or related field. An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and education may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-per-year basis.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.

Scripting/query languages and concepts; enterprise networking and internet-related technologies. Technology and practices as they relate to enterprise software and applications, enterprise desktop management and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). Cloud technologies and multi-vendor software environments. Internet-related technologies. Basic security and how it relates to specific software or systems. Technology-related principles, concepts, and terminology. Principals of project management. Business mathematics and writing. Recordkeeping and filing principles and practices. Basic job planning and prioritizing. Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition. Clerical office practices and procedures. Research techniques and report writing. Current Microsoft Office software. Filing and recordkeeping.

Work Environment:
The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, crawl under desks, climb ladders, and walk on uneven ground routinely. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in person and telephonically. Standing and walking between work areas is frequently required. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Capable of overhead lifting; lift and carry up to 45 pounds; push and pull materials and objects up to 100 pounds with assistive equipment such as a pallet jack.
