Role Overview We are seeking a talented and motivated Help Desk Technician to join our rapidly growing corporate office in Scottsdale. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing technical assistance and support to our internal users. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring optimal operational efficiency. This role is full-time onsite at our Scottsdale headquarters. Duties and responsibilities User account and access management: provision, modify, and deactivate accounts in Active Directory / Entra ID (Azure AD), manage group memberships, and handle access requests in line with the principle of least privilege.
Onboarding and offboarding:
prepare hardware and accounts for new hires; collect equipment, revoke access, and wipe devices for departures. This is often half a helpdesk's workload and is missing entirely. Mobile device support:
provision and troubleshoot company phones and tablets through an MDM platform (Intune, Jamf, Kandji, or similar). Endpoint security hygiene:
ensure antivirus / EDR agents are deployed and healthy, push patches, support MFA enrollment, and assist with security incident triage. Asset and license management:
track hardware inventory, software licenses, and warranty status; coordinate equipment purchases and disposals. Knowledge base contribution:
write and maintain how-to articles and FAQs so common issues become self-service over time. Conference room and AV support:
set up, test, and troubleshoot meeting room equipment (Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms, displays, cameras, conferencing hardware). Ticket management:
use a ticketing system (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice, Zendesk, etc.) to log, triage, and close requests against defined SLAs. We will soon have something. Backup and recovery support:
assist with file recovery requests and verify endpoint backup health. After-hours and on-call coverage:
if applicable, participate in a rotation for critical issues outside business hours. Worth stating explicitly so candidates self-select. Qualifications 3+ experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role. Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems. Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and repairs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other common business applications for support and troubleshooting. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ticketing system experience with at least one mainstream platform. Active Directory / Entra ID administration fundamentals (account, group, and basic GPO management). MDM experience with Intune, Jamf, or equivalent. Networking fundamentals beyond connectivity : DNS, DHCP, VPN
client support, basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting. Scripting basics:
PowerShell or Bash for routine automation (a nice-to-have, not a must). ITIL Foundation certification as a nice-to-have alongside A+ and Network+. Security awareness:
comfortable explaining phishing, MFA, and safe-handling practices to non-technical users. Work ConditionsPhysical requirements Must have professional appearance (business casual). Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Requires physical dexterity to work on internal computer components, or physically installing computer systems and equipment.
