The primary purpose of the

IT SPECIALIST

(NETWORK), GS-2210-11, is to serve as a base systems administror to monitor the Local and Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN), including the planning, analysis, acquisition, design, development, implemention, quality assurance, configurion, installion, integrion, maintenance testing, operional integrity, and/or management of networked systems for the transmission of informion in voice, da, and/or video forms. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California Nional Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensure with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment).

Security Clearance:

a minimum a Nional Agency Check is required. This position conducts informion assurance functions. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of the certificion program and required to obtain and maintain certificion. Certificion must be obtained within 6 months. Requirements are outlined in DoD Instruction 8570.01-m.

Qualificions General Experience:

Possess experience, educion or training th has provided a basic knowledge of da processing functions and general management principles to understand the stages required to autome a work process; Experience gained in work such as computer operor or assistant, computer sales representive, program analyst, or other positions th required the use or adaption of computer programs and systems.

IT SPECIALIST

(NETWORK), GS-2210-11: Musthave least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to least the GS-09, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the prive sector, but must demonstre th it is comparable to the GS grade indiced. Specialized experience may have been demonstred by performing duties such as: using techniques and requirements approprie to an assigned computer applicions area or computer specialty area in an organizion; Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordinion with others outside the organizional unit and development of project controls; Experience th required adaptions of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment; Experience preparing documention on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the merial and organizing it in a logical fashion.
