Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist II serves as a master level technical specialist within the Administrative Division and performs duties primarily in the System Engineering, Information Security Engineering, and Information Technology Project Management domains. The incumbent independently performs advanced technical analysis, system and platform administration, security architecture, infrastructure planning, incident response, recovery planning, vendor coordination, and implementation support for PERB's mission critical technology environment. The position serves as a senior technical lead and escalation resource for complex IT issues, including after-hours response to critical incidents, outages, cybersecurity events, or recovery activities as operationally required and in accordance with applicable departmental policies, labor provisions, and compensation rules. Permanent, Full Time Department Information The Public Employment Relations Board (PERB or Board) is a quasi-judicial administrative agency charged with administering the collective bargaining statutes covering employees of California's public schools, colleges, and universities, employees of the State of California, employees of California local public agencies (cities, counties and special districts), trial court employees, trial court interpreters, supervisory employees of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Judicial Council employees, Orange County Transportation Authority employees, Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) employees, Sacramento Regional Transit District employees, Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District employees, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority employees, and child care providers who participate in a state-funded early care and education program. PERB is headquartered in Sacramento, and maintains regional offices in Oakland and Glendale.
