Job Description
IT Support Specialist Overview / Summary We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join a team of six professionals providing technical, equipment, and desk-side support related to networks and workstations in a professional corporate environment. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is passionate about technology, enjoys helping users, and is looking for long-term career growth within a supportive team environment. The position supports approximately 600 end users across four office locations in the San Jose, CA area. Most support is provided remotely through phone and messaging tools, with occasional desk-side assistance as needed. Key Responsibilities Provide help desk support via phone, email, and messaging tools Troubleshoot hardware and software issues Test and deploy new applications and hardware Manage network and software accounts Deploy and redeploy workstations Conduct training for users on software and computer systems Provide desk-side support as needed Support end users with computer and network-related issues Collaborate within a team environment to resolve technical issues Required Qualifications Friendly and positive attitude while resolving customer issues Strong communication and people skills Ability to support users with varying technical skill levels Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task Good working knowledge of PC-based hardware and software Experience supporting or strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 11) Experience supporting or good knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, LAN, and WAN Experience supporting or strong knowledge of Microsoft O365 applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong troubleshooting and adaptable learning skills related to software and hardware issues including hard drives, power supplies, cables, switches, and connectivity Experience working with iOS devices including iPhones and iPads Ability to learn and implement office applications and hardware in both solo and team environments Fundamental knowledge of MS Active Directory, SCCM, and/or Adobe products is a plus Bachelor s degree in a relevant field desired but not mandatory
