Summary:

The main function of a DevOps Engineer is to bridge the gap between software development, quality assurance, and IT operations through continuous development, integration, and deployment practices. A DevOps Engineer is typically responsible for automating and optimizing the software delivery pipeline to ensure a quick and reliable release process.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and improve an automated deployment pipeline to enhance software development processes. Manage code deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes in a Unix/Linux-based cloud environment. Work with development teams to transition code into production and ensure systems are stable and running optimally. Create and maintain documentation of the infrastructure and systems. Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve infrastructure and application performance. Implement security policies and procedures to ensure protection against the latest threats and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Skills:

Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. Strong experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Skilled in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with version control systems like Git. Working knowledge of one or more scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby. Familiarity with cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their service offerings.
