The Immersive Learning Experience Coordinator ensures that the physical and digital environment of the Ditkoff Collaboratory functions seamlessly. This role is responsible for scheduling, technical readiness, student worker management, and maintaining the high-spec hardware and software that powers our immersive learning experiences. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual who is as comfortable troubleshooting hardware and software as they are managing the complex operation of the facility.Education:
Bachelor's degree Master preferred, or equivalent professional experience in Lab Management, IT, or Media Operations.Qualifications:
Experience:
2+ years in an operational or technical support role. Experience with VR/AR hardware is a significant plus but not required - a "quick-study" mindset is essential. Experience in coding virtual environments preferred. Experience supervising students.Skills:
Detail-Oriented:
Ability to manage a complex inventory where small parts (and cleanliness) matter.Customer Service:
A friendly, patient demeanor when helping non-technical users navigate new technology.Problem-Solving:
The ability to remain calm and methodical when technology doesn't behave as expected.Essential Functions:
1.Technical Operations & Maintenance Hardware Oversight:
Manage the inventory, charging, and maintenance of VR headsets, haptic equipment, and motion-capture sensors.Software Updates:
Ensure all Dreamscape Learn modules and supplemental software are updated and functioning across all workstations before classes begin.Troubleshooting:
Serve as the first line of defense for technical glitches during active lab sessions to minimize classroom downtime.Content Development:
Serve as the operational support to faculty when developing new content for the Dreamscape Learn classroom. 2.Logistics & Scheduling Classroom/Pod Management:
Manage the master calendar for the Collaboratory, balancing credit-bearing classes, open hours, and special events.Supply Chain:
Monitor and order necessary supplies (e.g., sanitary masks, batteries, hardware replacements).Documentation:
Maintain clear manuals for equipment use and safety protocols for students and guest users. 3.Team Leadership Student Staffing:
Recruit through Handshake for students. Collaborate with the HR department to hire students, and train a team of student workers/interns to assist with daily operations.Shift Management:
Coordinate student work schedules to ensure the center is adequately staffed during peak hours. 4.Data & Reporting Usage Tracking:
Collect and analyze data on lab utilization (e.g., foot traffic, equipment check-outs, and session durations).Reporting:
Prepare monthly reports for the Inaugural Director regarding equipment health and operational efficiency.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Candidates must have strong organizational skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively with partners in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment supporting Albertus Magnus College's mission as a student-centered, liberal arts institution. Commitment to undergraduate education and student success.Technology Skills:
Proficient in MS Office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), e-mail, and the Internet. Ability to learn new applications quickly, including organization-wide information systems and department-specific software applications. Ability to teach by leveraging the learning management system and other technology tools.Language Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively provide information and positively respond to questions from both external and internal customers both in person and by phone. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a number of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work independently and as a group member in developing and executing project plans. Ability to work in the theoretical arena and apply logic as appropriate.Work Schedule Requirements :
This position is primarily on-site and requires occasional evening hours to support scheduled classes.Benefits:
Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees). The college is committed to work-life balance and has a summer schedule from June through August.
