Technical Support Specialist Must View Networks Norwalk, CT Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $62,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications WordPress Windows Network setup Driving Desktop administration Mobile devices Full Job Description Job Description - Technical Support Specialist Provides support and implementation of network hardware, design, operation, convergence and security in line with the directives of VP Operations. Communicates via phone with vendors, partners, contractors and other staff members in constructive ways to accomplish technology installations. Sets up and configures hardware for deployment (PCs, modems, routers, Wi-Fi) Manages the planning, development, installation and operations of hardware and network systems in real-time using project management software (Asana) Maintains network health and addresses issues expeditiously. Assists configuring and maintaining web servers (WHM/cPanel) and server accounts Troubleshoot and fix issues with websites on our servers, largely with Wordpress Scheduling and managing technicians and incoming/outgoing support issues. Setup and support of employee equipment and software (staff PCs, tablets, phones) Work with our onsite technicians to oversee and implement signage and network installations - this will be both over the phone and in person; some travel is required. Willingness to learn and use software for content management and digital signage.
Requirements:
Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience Professional appearance for meeting with vendors, conrtactors and stakeholders Bachelor's Degree not required but preferred CompTIA A+ Certification not required but preferred
Additional Job Details:
The applicant should be comfortable with the following: Working with vendors and staff both in-person and on the phone to solve issues and encourage other parties to work with us in solving these issues in a positive and supportive manner with clear communication Driving to installation sites within the tri-state area (travel time for this position is approx. 25%) Managing projects simultaneously without things falling through the cracks Possessing and promoting a positive attitude in the face of long-term projects The applicant should be able to work with management to plan for MVN IT's future needs and operations while maintaining the day-to-day network operations The candidate should display an aptitude with leading and motivating staff members. Sets project timeframes and priorities based on objectives and ongoing assignments. Provides guidance and technical advice and becomes actively involved as required. How to adjust settings in Windows for different network environments The applicant should be familiar or capable of learning the following: How to configure modems, routers, switches, and NICs How to ping, trace routes, and monitor network traffic How to use WHM and cPanel for server accounts How to troubleshoot and repair website issues
