Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive IT Support Specialist to join our technology team! In this role, you will be the frontline hero for resolving technical issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring seamless computer operations across the organization. Your expertise will empower our teams to work efficiently and securely, providing exceptional support for a wide range of hardware, software, and network systems. Duties Provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues promptly and effectively. Manage computer systems including installation, configuration, updates, and maintenance of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux. Assist with software troubleshooting for applications like Microsoft Office and enterprise tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy. Maintain and support computer hardware components including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals. Administer computer networks by configuring and managing LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), firewalls, DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, and network security measures like Meraki devices. Support Active Directory management tasks such as user account provisioning, GPO (Group Policy Object) configurations, and access controls. Utilize tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for software deployment and updates; monitor system health using analysis skills to identify potential issues before they escalate. Assist with server management tasks involving Windows Server environments and Linux servers; perform routine backups and recovery procedures. Handle help desk requests efficiently via ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Jira; document incidents thoroughly for future reference. Collaborate with network administrators to troubleshoot connectivity issues related to TCP/IP protocols, DNS resolution, or LAN/WAN configurations. Support the deployment and management of mobile devices ensuring security policies are enforced across platforms. Skills Proven experience providing technical support in a fast-paced environment with excellent customer service skills. Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware components and software applications including Microsoft Office suite. Deep understanding of computer networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls (including Meraki), LAN/WAN architecture, and network security best practices. Proficiency in managing operating systems including Windows (especially Windows 10/11), macOS, and Linux distributions. Familiarity with enterprise management tools like SCCM for software deployment; GPO for policy enforcement; Active Directory for user management. Knowledge of IT infrastructure components including servers (Windows Server environments), storage solutions, BMC Remedy ticketing system usage, and network administration tasks. Ability to analyze system logs and performance metrics to proactively identify issues; excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly.
