Job Description

Metra is the premier manufacturer of after-market car stereo installation kits, the installers' choice. We have been the leader in the aftermarket industry since 1949. Our foundation was built on the design and manufacturing of ABS dash kits for aftermarket radios. Over the years we have expanded into many other industries, like electronic interfaces, home theater, vehicle lighting and safety. We have been providing installation products to installers and distributors for over 75 years with 5 other distribution centers nationally. Help Desk Technician Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Help Desk Technician to provide first-level technical support to end users. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to IT support requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day technical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, or ticketing system Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems and software Provide support for Microsoft Office, Windows OS, and other commonly used applications Create and manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions in Active Directory Maintain detailed records of support requests, actions taken, and solutions provided Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level IT staff as needed Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees, including equipment setup and recovery Educate users on best practices for technology use and cybersecurity Monitor IT inventory and report shortages or equipment needs
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 1-2 years of experience in a Help Desk or IT Support role Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and basic networking concepts Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and remote support tools Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently
