Job Description The Information Tech Specialist provides PC, network support, and audiovisual assistance for the City of Lynn Haven. This position is part of a team that is responsible for supporting City employees and the Commission with IT functions that arise during normal business activities. The Tech Specialist installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to system users in a prompt and supportive fashion. This position also assists with the audio and video recording of public meetings. The ideal candidate has a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or at least 2 years of experience in an IT support/help desk role. Network certification and audiovisual experience preferred. He or she must have a pleasant and courteous personality, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong problem-solving skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides PC and network support to all users within the organization Supports PC hardware and printer interface requirements Maintains Microsoft Windows operating systems environments Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in the areas of systems design, modifications or troubleshooting Provides help desk support to end users by resolving help desk requests or forwarding them to IT Manager for action Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction Maintains efficient and effective e-mail and antivirus systems Assists in research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies Assists with the recording and audiovisual aids required of the City's public meetings Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
College degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or 4 years' experience in lieu of degree accepted Two (2) years IT Help Desk experience Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress Able to manage workload and prioritize multiple projects Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor Highly professional and dependable Benefits The City of Lynn Haven offers a competitive, robust benefits plan, with the City covering 100% of the cost of various benefits to include MDLive, Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, and Long-term Disability.
