IT Technician

Position Summary The IT Technician position provides technical and administrative support for LAN, WAN, operating systems and a variety of application software; maintains adequate knowledge of existing hardware and software in use to maximize efficiency of the network and users' utilization of them; assist in maintaining servers and computer work stations; and provides written documents which evaluate LAN information and connected devices on periodic intervals. Troubleshoot and resolve Windows server issues, with assistance from the Network Administrator. Manage Windows domain including users, groups, and policies in the domain. Install, upgrade and/or maintain physical server hardware, with assistance from the Network Administrator. Install, patch and upgrade Windows Server software. Troubleshoot network cabling and wall terminal issues, assist with

cabling. Perform initial ISP, switches and router setups (understand TCP/IP, gateway, port forwarding, internet bridging and DNS concepts). Verify backup job completion, manage tapes, and troubleshoot issues. Repair of computers, other IT equipment and medical equipment, as required by product specifications. Ensure the Medical Centers and Corporate offices have an effective PC work station environment by communicating and interacting with users and IT staff. Coordinate with vendors and the purchasing department the acquisition of appropriate hardware and software applications. Required Education and Experience Firewall and VPN concepts familiarity. IND1
