Schedule:
40 hours/week (8 hours/day, Monday-Friday) Position Overview The State of Georgia is seeking an IT Support Specialist I to provide entry-level technical support for end users at the DDS Headquarters. This role involves troubleshooting basic IT issues, supporting hardware/software, and assisting users with day-to-day technical needs. Key Responsibilities Provide first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues Assist users with password resets, system access, and application support Install and configure software and standard applications Support network connectivity issues (basic level) Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT teams Maintain and update IT equipment inventory Required Qualifications Basic experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical troubleshooting
Understanding of:
Windows operating systems Microsoft Office applications Basic networking concepts Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment Preferred Skills Prior experience in a government or enterprise IT environment Familiarity with ticketing systems Hands-on experience with hardware setup and troubleshooting Required / Strongly Preferred Certifications CompTIA A+
  • baseline for hardware/software troubleshooting (most relevant for this role) CompTIA Network+
  • helpful for basic networking support CompTIA Security+
  • useful if the role touches security or government systems
Nice-to-Have Certifications Microsoft Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
  • strong for Windows and endpoint support ITIL Foundation
  • useful for ticketing/process-driven environments #
VMS Pay:
$25.00 per hour
Experience:
IT support: 3 years (Required) Operating systems: 1 year (Required)
