The purpose of position is to assist and provide analysis and technical support for the West Hawaii Region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation's systems and network information processing needs. Responsibilities include improving, maintaining installed systems and analyzing needs for new systems and system enhancements, acquiring and directing the installation of new hardware and software, and implementation of training procedures. This position may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. Utilize and monitor the IT ticketing system (ServicePro) to solve end-user technology related issues. Provide basic IT assistance to various consultant firms, computer equipment vendors, hardware technicians, software vendors, technical organizations and other governmental agencies who are providing such services and to keep abreast of advancements in IT systems, including hardware and software, to assist in planning, developing and maintaining the facilities' systems. Assure confidentiality of data while also allowing for accessibility by authorized persons/departments. Assist with training users in the operation of multi-hospital IT systems. Works with hospital section managers to develop procedures for use of IT systems, and to identify changes to work processes and methods. Provides technical support to department supervisors regarding hardware and software configuration, analysis and identification of operational problems, and prepares plans. Reviews, evaluates and acts on machine stoppages and error conditions. Advises or assists User Support Technicians in locating and correcting unscheduled machine halts (i.e., program or equipment malfunctions.) THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university. Excess experience of the types and quality described below or any administrative, professional, analytical, technical, or other responsible work which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. The education or experience background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex written material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
One and one-half (1½) years of progressively responsible work experience in information technology which involved the systems analysis, design, programming, security and access management, database design and management, consulting, and/or installing and maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, and web or network infrastructure equipment. The work must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information technology principles, methods, techniques and practices; computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment; and personal computer, server, mini and/or mainframe operating systems. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
In addition to the knowledge and abilities required at Level I, knowledge of IT principles, concepts and technical aspects of responsible IT specialty area; use of auxiliary and peripheral IT equipment; functions of various computer operating systems; i.e., computer network, desktop, and/or mainframe and their applications. Incumbents must also possess the ability to learn equipment installation work activities and to document programs, operating instructions and procedures. Understand and apply the fundamentals of assigned IT specialty area(s); understand, interpret and apply technical written materials, laws, rules, policies and procedures to specific issues; evaluate the effectiveness of, or identify the need for appropriate computer programs or information systems.
