Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an Intermediate Platform Engineer (GTS IT DevOps Engineer) to support the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise monitoring and observability platforms. This role focuses on Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Real User Monitoring (RUM), synthetic monitoring, and database visibility using AppDynamics and related tools. The ideal candidate will contribute to system reliability, scalability, and performance by implementing monitoring solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Implement and maintain AppDynamics APM instrumentation, including transaction tracing and performance analysis Configure and support Real User Monitoring (RUM), synthetic monitoring, and database monitoring solutions Contribute to the design and support of enterprise observability platforms across cloud and on-prem environments Assist in CI/CD pipeline integration for automated deployment of monitoring agents and configurations Build and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and telemetry pipelines for logs, metrics, and traces Configure alerting systems and integrate with ITSM (ServiceNow) and event management platforms Participate in incident response and troubleshoot performance and reliability issues Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver scalable monitoring solutions Document monitoring standards, processes, and operational procedures Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3-6+ years of experience in platform, monitoring, or observability engineering roles Hands-on experience with AppDynamics APM for instrumentation and performance monitoring Working knowledge of RUM, synthetic monitoring, and database monitoring concepts Experience supporting observability platforms in enterprise environments Experience configuring alerts and managing alert noise reduction Working knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure Pipelines Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, APIs, or similar tools Preferred Qualifications Experience with event management platforms such as BigPanda Experience managing AppDynamics agent deployment and upgrades at scale Knowledge of cloud security best practices Interest in or progress toward cloud or observability certifications (AWS, GCP, etc.) Experience working in distributed or global teams
